A new real estate firm is looking to double down on the development and acquisition of communities for adults aged 55 and older in Colorado and other Western states.

Denver-based Headwaters Group is about a year old, but the firm is under contract on Denver-area properties where it will build rental communities for older adults.

Ben Burke, managing partner at Headwaters Group, said the group is under contract on a property on the southwest corner of East Arapahoe Road and South Blackhawk Street in Centennial, where Headwaters plans to build 169 units. Headwaters plans to purchase the property during the third quarter of this year. In addition, Headwaters is under contract at 10691 Melody Drive in Northglenn where it also plans to build 169 units.
